About

I’m Becca. I’m 25 and I’m a country bumpkin although I spent my Uni years living in and loving London.

I’m a science geek, a book lover and a caffeine connoisseur. I’ve done a BSc in Microbiology and I can’t wait to get back to life in the lab!

I’m also in recovery from anorexia, bulimia, self harm, depression and BPD. I’m currently in hospital but after 2 years, I’m nearing discharge! Time to get my life back!

    Dear Becca,

I have just read all your blog in one go because it really was utterly absorbing. You have my respect, admiration and sympathy for the things you have gone through. As a university graduate (almost- haven’t had my ceremony yet) I want to congratulate you on finishing your brilliant dissertation. I know it will be brilliant Becca because of the standard of your writing here, the detail, imagery and elegance of each blog entry. I will be following your blog from here on out and send you all the love and hugs in the world.

    Dear Becca

I’ll graduate as a clinical psychologist from the University of Oslo in april and I’m working on a research project for my final thesis. I’m writing to you because I’ve been following your blog. I’m passionate about how health care professionals can encounter young people who self harm in the best way possible. I would very much like to use entries from your blog for my final thesis. I’m going to use several blog entries written by young people who self harm in different countries, in order to find out more about how you are met by health care professionals and what you need from us. Your entries give me valuable information on this.

I’ll need your permission in order to use your blog. You’ll be completely anonymous in my thesis if you choose to participate. I hope I can contact you by e-mail in order to give you more information about the project. My e-mail adress is astrid.dastol(at)gmail.com. Hope to hear from you!

    Best regards,
    Astrid
